Melbourne City & Mornington Peninsula Wineries - Private Day Tour

See the sights of Melbourne City and explore the Mornington Peninsula in one day. In the morning, you’ll enjoy our Melbourne City Tour, experiencing the highlights and arty laneways of our marvellous city. Later, travel approximately one hour to the Mornington Peninsula for an amazing lunch and the opportunity to visit the region’s wineries or an animal sanctuary for up-close wildlife experiences.

We love showcasing our city and will allow you to experience it like a local Melbournian. Walk some of the famous laneways and visit the cafes, taking in the coffee aromas amid bustling traders and shoppers. We’ll show you the city’s significant landmarks and buildings, and share the rich history that has made Melbourne the most liveable city in the world for the last seven years in a row.

Next we head to the Mornington Peninsula, renowned as Victoria’s decadent region. It has it all – gourmet food experiences, local vineyards, craft markets, unique wildlife and pristine nature areas. We’ll take you to Red Hill for wineries and spectacular bay views then lunch at an acclaimed Winery. In the afternoon, you’ll be able to explore more wineries and cellar doors and you’ll have the option of visiting a native wildlife sanctuary for a close encounter with kangaroo’s and koalas.

This is an ideal tour if you want to maximise your time by combining the excitement of the city with one of the best and most beautiful wine regions the state has to offer.

Fine Dining @ Montalto Winery or Red Hill Estate Max's Restaurant

Fine dining restaurant A;  Montalto Restaurant  winner of 14 Chefs Hat awards. The relaxed elegance of the Montalto Restaurant is set in a striking and harmoniously landscaped building, featuring rammed earth walls, timber frames and rough-hewn floor boards.  Floor to ceiling windows take advantage of the breathtaking and rambling rural outlook of vines, olive groves, sculpture, lakes and wetlands, with pastures and a hint of the ocean as the backdrop.

Fine dining restaurant B;  Red Hill Estate Max’s Restaurant  Combining “the best view of any vineyard in the world” as Ian Sutton, Former CEO Australian Winemakers Federation put it, with an inspiring menu bursting with local produce and delectable wines, a true Mornington Peninsula Experience is guaranteed. With Chef Max Paganoni at the reins, his dedication to utilising and promoting local produce is obvious.

N.B. Dining location is based on availability. If both are unavailable we will book another venue and inform you of changes

  •   If you’re traveling solo or with a group of up to 11 members, I would highly recommend you to book your tours with “Great Private Tours” for the following reasons:

1- Other tour companies are often packed with many tourists, thus it will take longer time at the stops, and will restrict you with limited time at the attractions, where as with Great Private Tours, you’ll be in control of the time.

2- Steve will provide you with the best itinerary that will meet your expectations! He’ll consider every aspect, starting from the weather, sunrise/sunset, meals, peak hours, and since he has been in business for many years he already has good relations with the employees of the touristic attractions who will not hesitate to facilitate your tours.

3- The price is very reasonable, specially if you’re a group, it’s totally worth it.

4- Steve, being a professional tour guide, in addition to his experience as a sustainability specialist, be ready to enjoy the knowledge transfer he’ll share with you on the environment of all places you’ll visit as well as the anthropology of Australia and specially the province of Victoria.

I personally have really enjoyed all of my tours with Steve, and I would highly recommend it to everyone planning to visit Melbourne for an unforgettable experience!

    Regards,
    Mohamed More
