The Great Ocean Road is Australia’s premier tourist route. This breathtaking 264 kilometre stretch of road is comprised of the following three sections, each with their own unique characteristics. Surf Coast Shire
This section of the Great Ocean Road begins at the famous surf townships of Bells Beach and Torquay with the road hugging the coastline and clifftops as it winds through the seaside towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay.

Otway Ranges
The majestic forests of the Great Otway National Park rise above the ocean in lush rainforest areas and towering Eucalyptus forests with a healthy population of wild Koalas.

Shipwreck Coast
Dramatic 60-metre cliffs tower above the ocean with the limestone stacks of the 12 Apostles standing resolutely out at sea. This spectacular section of coastline hosts numerous unique coastal landmarks and photo opportunities along the section of the touring route.
