Melbourne City - 1/2 Day Private Tour

Melbourne has been voted the most liveable city in the world for seven years running! Experience Australia’s most chic city on our half-day tour that will showcase the grand architecture, impressive gardens, artistic laneways and coastal suburbs that Melbourne is famous for.

To make the most of your day, this tour is only offered as a combined tour with one of our other tour destinations.

On this 4-hour tour, you’ll learn the history of the gold rush period and how Melbourne quickly became one of the wealthiest cities in the world, leading it to become the fashion capital that it is today. You’ll enjoy our combination of walking and vehicle-based support that allows you to get a feel for the city and its suburbs. Experience Melbourne like a local!

This tour uncovers Melbourne’s famous arty laneways and shopping arcades. On market days, you’ll get a taste of Australia’s largest open air market at the Queen Victoria Markets.

Take in architectural delights such as the world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building as well as Parliament House and Treasury Gardens. See the Princess theatre and the Windsor hotel, both built especially for the Queen’s arrival. Admire the gothic cathedrals of St Pauls and St Patricks.

You’ll visit Melbourne’s most iconic city precincts including Federation Square on the Yarra River, the MCG and tennis centre in the world-class sports precinct, the ‘Parisian end’ of Collins Street, and the Royal Botanic Gardens with the Shrine of Remembrance. We’ll even drive the track of the Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit.

You’ll have the choice of visiting Melbourne’s trendy inner suburbs, taking in Lygon Street and Fitzroy Street or otherwise heading down to the bayside suburbs. Here you’ll find St Kilda with Luna Park and the famous Brighton bathing boxes.

After seeing Melbourne like a local, you’ll depart for your next tour destination as part of the combined package. Your choice between Phillip Island, the Mornington Peninsula, the Yarra Valley or the Dandenongs.

Our trip to Melbourne was one of the most memorable trips we’ve had and a big reason for this was traveling with Steve in his lovely van and sharing conversations with him! We had planned two tours with Steve- Day 1 - Covering the Yarra valley, William Ricketts sanctuary, Puffing Billy and Brighton boxes. Day 2 - Covering Wilsons promontory and Phillip island. Steve was active in helping us plan our days before landing in Australia and came up with best ways to build trips customised to our taste and comfort. Flexibility in travel plans is something which most tour operators don’t appreciate and provide, but I think Steve understands a traveler’s mind very well and so he teamed up with us even when we changed our plans last moment ( truly appreciate this attitude). We got great insights into customs, people and places of Australia during our drive time and he elaborated on the facts and history which helped us connect better with the place. He is extremely punctual and still accommodated politely when we got late or stayed around in a place for more time than possible. During a hill climb, my mom got extremely tired and couldn’t walk further up and he happily walked down with her to make her comfortable ( Thanks and we truly appreciate your understanding). He knows some really good bakeries and cafes. So if you’re a foodie you’re with the right...
