In the morning, we head out through the rolling hills of the South-East Gippsland dairy country. We’ll stop at a local culinary town for morning tea and to gather some picnic supplies. Next we head towards Wilsons Promontory National Park. Once inside the park, there are a number of short and medium length day walks to choose between as well as many suburb beaches to explore.
Your day at Wilsons Promontory will cater to your interests and how much walking you want to do. You can do a combination of walks in the areas, including Mt Oberon (2hrs), Mt. Bishop (1.5hrs) or the rainforest beauty of Lilly Pilly Gully (1.5hrs). There’s also a simply amazing beach walk between Squeaky Beach and Tidal river (1.5hrs) that offers spectacular coastal views with huge granite boulders.
Our recommendation for good walkers is to take on the Mt. Bishop walk, followed by the Squeaky Beach to Tidal River walk before relaxing on the beach and later viewing kangaroos and emus. This provides up to 3hrs of walking plus some time on the beaches and with animals. However, we can easily accommodate your preference for more or less walking and more or less relaxing time.
Departing ‘the Prom’, we always stop to view the wild Kangaroos and Emus at one of the best wildlife viewing spots in Victoria.
We head to Phillip Island to see the Nobbies and Seal Rocks, home to thousands of Australian fur seals. Of course, the island is most famous for the Penguin Parade that occurs each evening. This is a must-see for any wildlife enthusiast! It is a truly unique experience watching the multitude of little penguins return from the ocean to their burrows each night. We upgrade you to Penguin Plus tickets for a premium viewing experience.
Dinner is at the seaside town of Cowes on Phillip island. Your guide will recommend local restaurants and book for you. Tour price does not include dinner.
