All about the Hobart Winery Tour – Coal River Valley Loop.

Start your Hobart winery tour of the Coal River Valley where you will sample some of the finest regional wines and enjoy a 2-3 course meal at a first class winery. The region boasts many food producers, cheese makers, distilleries and wineries which we can visit at your request.

Our Loop tour takes you towards the historic town of Richmond dropping in at a few key wineries and food providores on the way. Taste the regions famous Pinot Noir and Riesling’s all on the doorstep of Hobart. This cool climate region boasts a climate similar to traditional european wine growing regions and offers excellent local produce.

During the day you can enjoy the charms of the Historic town of Richmond taking in the famous Goal and bridge and other artisan shops. where After lunch enjoy walking through the historic old town of Richmond, famous for its historic bridge and Goal and old worldly charms. You can walk the street and take in the 18th century architecture and arts and crafts stores. Either stay longer and enjoy the towns ambience or return via Staphano Lubiano Winery on the Derwent and complete a scenic circuit drive of Coal Valley and Derwent River.

  3. 11.30am Coal Valley Vineyard

    Sweeping views of Barilla Bay and Coal Valley.  Enjoy a wine flight overlooking the bay.

  4. 12.30pm Frogmores Vineyard

    Taste the range of Frogmores wines then sit back for either a 2, or 3 course meal with a glass of wine at their Cambridge restuarant.

     

  5. 2.00pm Historic Richmond

    After lunch take a historical walk down the streets of Richmond through this 1830’s township that boasts some of the oldest buildings in Australia. See the historic Richmond Bridge and Goal and explore some of the arts and craft shops

  6. 3.00pm Pooleys Wines

    One of the most established wineries in the region and set on a heritage cottage where you will enjoy a premium single vineyard tasting.

  7. 4.00pm Stephano Lubiana

    We loop back over the Derwent River to this Tuscan inspired biodynamic vineyard that offers a unique range of Red & White varietals.

  8. 5.30pm Return to hobart
